Movie taglines, Max Burkholder, and Mr. Mercedes...
From the Desk of Tai Freligh #2 - February, 2024
Happy February!
It turns out that this is the year I pivot towards the writing side of things and I’m okay with that.
I have loved writing since I was a kid, creating poems and writing adventure stories in fantastical worlds. I wrote for my high school newspaper doing feature pieces and then moved on to freelance writing for some comic book sites and then for the last several years for Flickering Myth out of the UK. I have had so many fun opportunities because of all these writing gigs and I am incredibly grateful.
Somewhere along the way, the writing went by the wayside and became a hobby for when I had time. I’m now realizing that writing is what I am supposed to be doing.
To that end, my newsletter is going to keep shifting and moving…more towards entertainment and copywriting and away from the social media and marketing-heavy newsletter it has been in the past.
I’m going to start including more of my old work and start back on the path to writing new stuff. I hope you stay on this journey with me, and as always, drop some comments on what you’d like to see more of.

20 Things We Learned From The ‘Batman v Superman’ Comic-Con Trailer
I had the great joy of attending San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) back in 2015 and was in Hall H when Warner Bros released the second trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman movie. I wrote this listicle for the Batman News website. You can see a list of all my articles for BMN here. Check out my original intro below…
When the second Batman v Superman trailer was released in Hall H for Comic-Con attendees, the reaction was immediate and ecstatic. It had everything we wanted to see, but didn’t in the first trailer (Wonder Woman fighting! Lex Luthor scheming! Superman and Batman actually fighting!) and more. After going through the Batman v Superman Comic-Con trailer frame by frame, here’s twenty things we learned about the upcoming Warner Bros film.

ENTERTAINMENT
Exclusive Interview – Ted star Max Burkholder talks Seth MacFarlane’s Peacock series
Max Burkholder (Parenthood, The Purge, Invincible) stars as the lead of Seth MacFarlane’s Ted movie prequel series that premiered on Peacock, January 11th. The project takes place in 1993 and Max portrays the character that Mark Wahlberg played in the films. I asked him about working in television and movies as a child, some of his favorite video games and what it was like working opposite a special effect in the Ted television show.
Video Corner — Kelly Lynch talks about her dysfunctional relationship with her son on Mr. Mercedes
Kelly Lynch plays Brady Hartsfield's dysfunctional mother in Mr. Mercedes, a television show based on the Stephen King book of the same name. I interviewed her in person at Comic-Con back in 2017. Here she talks about her rather inappropriate relationship with her son. This video continues to be one of my most popular videos on my channel, garnering over 33,000 views and counting.
